THE HAMLET OF OLGA, WA

The hamlet of Olga was founded in 1860. The Olga Post Office, established in 1890, was in a log cabin at Buck Bay, then later moved to the building that housed the first store in Olga. Olga had the first public water supply on Orcas Island and the second school district. Named for the mother of the first storekeeper, this small hamlet has retained its rustic beauty practically undisturbed for more than 100 years.
